AUSTIN, Texas (4-16-24) – Senior Irene Murua was named to the College Sports Communicators Academic (CSC) 2023-24 Academic All-America® Women’s Basketball Third Team. Murua becomes the first Detroit Mercy women’s basketball student-athlete in program history to garner CSC Academic All-American honors. Murua was one of five of the 16 members of the Academic All-America® Division I women’s basketball team to boast a perfect 4.0 GPA in their undergraduate work or graduate school.
