IRVINE, Calif. – UC Irvine men’s and women’s basketball placed seven student-athletes on the 2023-24 Big West Winter All-Academic Team the conference office announced Tuesday afternoon. On the women’s side, juniors Nikki Tom and Amelia Scharpf made The Big West All-Academic Team for the second year in a row, while senior Nevaeh Dean was a first-time selection. Tom started 31 of 32 games played. She averaged 6.6 points, 3.8 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.9 steals per contest. Tom is majoring in business administration.
