Balikis Wins Second GSC Track Athlete of the Week Award

RELATED LINKS: GSC Release BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The University of West Alabama’s Yakubu Balikis has won her second Gulf South Conference Track Athlete of the Week honor after setting the UWA record in the 100 meters at the Berry Field Day Invitational this past weekend. The Lagos, Nigeria native won her fifth 100-meter event in six outdoor events this season and set a new school record with an 11.35-second sprint. She surpassed the previous mark by 0.12 seconds.
