Pioneers pile up 32 runs while give up none in doubleheader sweep of Knox
GRINNELL, Iowa – When a softball team combines powerful hitting, stellar pitching and stingy defense, good things will happen. Grinnell College enjoyed that Wednesday in a Midwest Conference doubleheader sweep of Knox College at the Softball Complex. Grinnell (15-13, 4-2 MWC) pounded out 16 hits and got a two-hit pitching performance from Christin Hartman ’24 on its way to winning the opener 18-0. In the second game, Lizzy Vermeulen ’24 fired two-hit ball and the Pioneers collected 15 hits in a 14-0 victory. Grinnell’s defense played errorless ball the entire day.
