PROVIDENCE, R.I.- The Providence College softball team defeated the Merrimack Warriors (16-25, 10-5 NEC) in a non-conference matchup on Wednesday, April 17 on Glay Field in Providence, R.I. The Friars improved to 18-18 overall (8-10 BIG EAST). Senior Jacque Harrington (Bedford, N.H.) spearheaded the Friars' attack as she went 3-for-4 at the plate, contributing three RBI including a two-run home run. Brianna De La Fuente (Metuchen, N.J.) hit her first career home run with a two-run shot that helped seal the 7-2 win for the Friars.
