WINGATE , N.C. -- It should come as no surprise that Oklahoma Baptist's Troy Shields was named the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association's (NCBWA) Central Region Player of the Week on Thursday. Shields, a junior catcher and designated hitter, had a weekend to remember versus Ouachita. During the three games on April 12-13, he batted an amazing .833 with 10 hits, two doubles, two homers, drove in 12 and tallied 18 total bases.
