NEWARK, N.J. – The William Paterson baseball team (8-23, 3-9 NJAC) built an early advantage and cruised to an 11-3 victory at Rutgers-Newark (16-16, 1-11 NJAC) April 19. HOW IT HAPPENED: WP struck twice during its first at-bat. Senior center fielder Jake Lutz (River Vale, N.J./Pascack Valley Regional) and freshman third baseman Ty Kobylakiewicz (Woodbridge, N.J./Woodbridge) walked, advanced a base on a wild pitch and scampered home when junior first baseman RJ Mehnert (Wayne, N.J./DePaul Catholic) singled to right field.
