04/19/2024 | 7:45:00 | Track and Field TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - Freshman distance runner Josh Allison won his first-ever run in the men's 3000-meter steeplechase Friday at the Gibson Invitational. Allison won the event by nearly five seconds with a time of 9:05.80. He had previously run the 2000-meter steeplechase at South Florida where he finished eighth. Fellow freshman Sercye Haynes set a personal record in the men's hammer throw, throwing 41.04 meters (134'-07). The mark is nearly eight feet longer than his previous collegiate record.
