River Hawks Kick Off Weekend at Virginia Challenge and George Davis Invitational

LOWELL, Mass. – A handful of athletes on the UMass Lowell women’s track and field team competed Friday at both the Virginia Challenge, hosted by Virginia, and the George Davis Invitational, hosted back at home at UMass Lowell. Sophomore Mary-Kate Finn (Nashua, N.H.) got the day started in the women’s 5k invite at Virginia, taking home 19th-place honors with a time of 16:32.78. Senior Ali Grasso (North Reading, Mass.) took part in the triple jump for the River Hawks, collecting 18th-place honors with a leap of 37’10” (11.53m).
