Simpson wins over Central in baseball weekend series opener

INDIANOLA — The bats were quiet nearly all game for the Central College baseball team in a 7-0 loss Friday night at Simpson College. The Storm (14-17, 7-9 American Rivers Conference) raced out to a 4-0 lead in the first inning against starting pitcher Declan O’Hare (fifth year, Los Angeles, Calif., John Marshall HS). Reliever Andrew Doyle (senior, Bettendorf, Pleasant Valley HS) quieted their offense with two runs, only one earned, over seven innings of work.
