Track & Field: Stanhope, Lawson Post Top-Five Program Times on Day One of Virginia Challenge
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Distance runners Miranda Stanhope and Katherine Lawson recorded top-five program times on day one of the Virginia Challenge on Friday night at Lannigan Field. In the 5,000-meter invite, Stanhope crossed the finish line in 16:11.00, placing her No. 2 in program history, while Lawson followed closely behind in 16:21.88, good for fourth in the JMU record book. Former All-American Mollie DeFrancesco owns the school record with a 16:03.97 effort set in 2002.
