Captains in the Community…CNU Football Lends a Hand in Cleanup Efforts at Local Beach

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – As the end of the spring semester nears at Christopher Newport University, classes are winding down and final exams will begin this week. Saturday, however, approximately 80 members of the Captains football squad left campus and took part in another very important endeavor…cleaning up a local beach. Head Coach Paul Crowley and his crew descended on an area known as Pinkett’s Beach in downtown Newport News, and the cleanup effort included gathering trash, debris, and sea grass.
