Grinnell women’s tennis team falls short in battle of nationally-ranked squads

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – In a battle of two of the top teams in the nation, sixth-ranked Washington University of St. Louis worked past No. 23 Grinnell 9-0 Saturday. Isa Voinescu ’26 and Paige Sargent ’27 put up a great battle at No. 3 doubles, playing their foe to a tie-breaker. The same went for Utsah Kalra ’25 at No. 5 singles, as she bounced back from an opening-set loss to win 6-2 and force a tie-breaker, where the host school emerged victorious. Grinnell, 19-4 on the season, closes out the regular season Saturday at Coe College.
