Marisa Kelly’s Two-Hitter Keys Sweep of DeSales

The Misericordia University softball team swept a doubleheader from DeSales, 4-0, 9-1, Saturday at Anderson Field. Gianna Russo and Kaitlin Redling homered to back Marisa Kelly’s two-hitter in the opener. Casey Funesti had three hits and three RBI in the nightcap and Bridget Doherty added three RBI. Russo gave the Cougars a 1-0 lead with a one-out solo homer in the bottom of the first. Nikki Elliott was hit by a pitch and Redling followed with a two-run homer to make it 3-0.
