USM Women’s Track & Field Shines at Pine Tree State Classic, Barnes Dominates Field Events

BRUNSWICK, Maine – Junior Zoe Barnes (New Gloucester, Maine/Gray-New Gloucester) of the University of Southern Maine women’s track & field team was named the Most Valuable Field Performer at the 2024 Maine Pine Tree State Classic hosted by Bowdoin College. Barnes won the shot put and the discus at the event and also placed fourth in the hammer. The Huskies placed fourth as a team with 94 points to finish behind Bowdoin College (161 points), Colby College (131 points) and Bates College (130 points).
