Western Illinois Braves the Elements at Iowa Musco Twilight Invite
IOWA CITY, Iowa — While cool, blustery conditions may have hindered some, Western Illinois pole vaulter Arnie Grunert found the weather and temperatures much to his liking at Iowa’s Musco Invitational on Saturday. After breaking his school record in the pole vault last week, Grunert bested even himself, setting another new standard for the program with a vault of 17 feet, 4.5 inches. The vault topped his record-breaker last week by 9.25 inches. The effort is also the 24th-best pole vault performance in NCAA men’s Division Track and Field this season.
