Westwood, MA – WPI rookie Sandy Fairbairn (Norton, MA) was selected as the New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Softball Athlete of the Week for the week ending on April 21st. MIT’s Caroline Langmeyer was named the conference’s Pitcher of the Week. Fairbairn recorded a .500/.533/.831 slash line and racked up 10 runs scored, 14 RBI, trio of doubles, pair of home runs and six stolen bases to help the Engineers to a 6-1 record last week as the Engineers outscored their opponents 60-24 on the week.
