Trierweiler earns WAC Player of the Week
Grand Canyon graduate first baseman Ashley Trierweiler garnered WAC Player of the Week after a strong performance last week. The Lopes (39-10, 17-3 WAC) defeated Arizona State and won their seventh consecutive conference series to maintain a four-game lead in WAC season standings. Trierweiler, who leads the nation in hits (76) and ranks fourth in the NCAA in batting average this season (.469), swung for a .677 average with 10 hits, six RBI, three doubles, a home run and a ,1.067 slugging percentage.
