5 best NFL draft fits for LSU wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr.

BATON ROUGE, La. (BVM) – Wide receiver is one of the strongest and deepest position groups in the 2024 NFL Draft as multiple wideouts are expected to be selected early on in Detroit. One future star among that group is LSU wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr.

Although his teammate Malik Nabers has garnered a lot of the headlines and will likely be a higher pick, Thomas Jr. has the looks of a future star in the league as well. The 6-foot-3, 210-pound wideout put up over 700 yards receiving in his first two years in Baton Rouge before a breakout junior year in 2023 in an explosive offense led by Jayden Daniels. Thomas Jr. compiled 68 receptions for 1,177 yards and 17 touchdowns last season, showcasing his athleticism, speed and contested-catch ability.

Many of Thomas Jr.’s top traits have been on display throughout the pre-draft process as well, as the LSU wideout ran a 4.33-second 40-yard dash at the NFL combine which was the second-best time among wide receivers who tested.

Thomas Jr. is rated by many as a top-five receiver in this year’s draft class and is expected to be selected toward the middle or end of the first round on Thursday night, a range where there will likely be several interested suitors. Here are the five best draft fits for Thomas Jr.
