GREENSBORO, N.C. — A seven-spot in the first inning helped the Charlotte softball team take down UNC Greensboro 10-6 on Wednesday evening at UNCG Softball Stadium to win their eighth game in a row. Playing their final midweek contest of the season, the Niners (30-16) got hits from seven different spots in the order — collecting 10 as a team — and held off a late Spartans rally thanks to a pair of shutout frames from Sam Gress.
