Pioneers Earn Revenge on Cardinals
NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Carroll baseball captured a huge CCIW victory on Tuesday night, defeating North Central 4-2. The victory helped Carroll (13-18, 6-8 CCIW) hold a narrow lead over the Cardinals (11-20, 5-8 CCIW) in the conference standings as the Pioneers claimed their revenge. As a team, Carroll had eight hits to the Cardinals’ nine. Leo Matuga went 3-for-4 to lead the Pios in hits and three more tallied extra-base hits, including a 2nd-inning 2-run home run for the go-ahead runs.
