Softball Manages Doubleheader Split with Cardinals

NAPERVILLE, Ill. – The Elmhurst University softball team managed a doubleheader split with North Central College Wednesday evening, falling in game one, 4-3, but taking game two, 3-2, in a ninth-inning walkoff. Elmhurst (11-21, 2-10 CCIW) was able to keep the opener close, jumping out to an early 2-0 lead and again knotting the game at three in the fifth inning. However, a late rally from the Cardinals (24-8, 9-5 CCIW) gave the hosts a walkoff win in the opener.
