Bears sweep Brockport to open weekend

POTSDAM, N.Y.—The SUNY Potsdam softball team (11-15, 4-8 SUNYAC) swept SUNY Brockport (8-20, 2-8) for the second year in a row on Friday evening. The Bears took game one 7-5 and game two 10-2 in five innings. The Golden Eagles started with two runs in the top of the first in the opener. Sophomore second baseman Riley Barrett (Syracuse, N.Y./Cicero-North Syracuse) scored on an error. Junior designated player Olivia Simone (Whitesboro, N.Y./Whitesboro) followed with an RBI single.
