Big Joe Williams Claims SIAC Men’s Shot Put Gold

ATLANTA, Ga. – After dunking the basketball all winter, the Wildcat slammed the field competition on Friday. Fort Valley State's Joe Williams claimed the first Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Men's Track & Field Championship crown with the golden throw in the shot put. Joe Williams threw 16.68 meters to best his SIAC competitors by over 1.24 meters for the men's shot put title. The sophomore later added a sixth-place discus placing (42.81 meters) to his credit.
