Freshman Duo Clocks Impressive 10k Marks At Penn Relays
PHILADELPHIA – A pair of Tennessee freshman distance runners kicked off the weekend with two impressive times in the College Women's 10,000-meter championship on Thursday night at the Penn Relays. Caroline Lyerly completed the 25-lapper in a personal-best 33:19.80 to finish fourth at the meet, while Jillian Candelino turned in a time of 33:30.94 to place fifth in her collegiate track debut. Lyerly's time shattered her own UT freshman record in the event by nearly 45 seconds and ranks No. 2 on Tennessee's all-time list in the event.
