Ranking the 10 greatest Calgary Stampeders of all time
10. Herm Harrison, SB (1964-72)
A linebacker at first, “Ham Hands” Harrison carved out quite a respectable career catching passes for the Stampeders.
He either led or tied for the lead in receptions in the Western Conference in three straight seasons (1969-71) and paced the CFL in receiving yards (1,306) in 1971.
Harrison was a three-time All-Canadian and played in three Grey Cups. He reeled in one of Calgary’s touchdowns in a 14-11 win over Toronto in the 1971 title game. Harrison was inducted into the Canadian Football Hall of Fame in 1993.
With Calgary Stampeders playing B.C. Lions in the West semi-final on Sunday, it’s time to remember the first time the 2 teams met in the WSF – 1969. Stampeders won 35-21, led by QB Jerry Keeling, who was 22 of 31 for 323 yards with TD passes to Herm Harrison and Terry Evanshen. pic.twitter.com/o8ylFkHNwI
