Softball Drops Series Opener at Marshall

HUNTINGTON, W. Va. – App State Softball dropped a Sun Belt Conference series opener Friday at Marshall, falling 7-2 at Dot Hicks Field. The Mountaineers (19-25, 4-15) cut their deficit to 6-2 in the sixth inning, when Kayt Houston followed Grace Barrett's leadoff walk with an RBI double and Houston scored from third on Macy Hamby's fielder's choice.
