Terps Drop Game One To Purdue, 2-1

COLLEGE PARK, MD – Maryland softball lost 2-1 to Purdue in game one at Maryland Softball Stadium on Friday. Hailey Hayes hit a two-run home run in the top of the seventh to take a 2-1 lead, Purdue's (24-22, 10-9 Big Ten) first of the game. Maryland (19-28, 6-12 Big Ten) could not send the game to extras despite having a runner in scoring position. Courtney Wyche held a shutout up until the final inning. She finished her complete outing with 10 strikeouts while allowing just three hits. She has 195 strikeouts on the year, ranking first among all pitchers...
