Terps Drop Game One To Purdue, 2-1

COLLEGE PARK, MD – Maryland softball lost 2-1 to Purdue in game one at Maryland Softball Stadium on Friday. Hailey Hayes hit a two-run home run in the top of the seventh to take a 2-1 lead, Purdue's (24-22, 10-9 Big Ten) first of the game. Maryland (19-28, 6-12 Big Ten) could not send the game to extras despite having a runner in scoring position. Courtney Wyche held a shutout up until the final inning.
