Women’s Tennis: Cortland Drops 5-3 Decision to Geneseo in SUNYAC Semifinals

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. – The second-seeded Cortland women’s tennis lost to third-seeded Geneseo, 5-3, in the SUNYAC tournament semifinals at the Binghamton Tennis Club. Cortland closes the combined fall/spring season with a 7-6 record. Geneseo (9-6) will face top-seeded and defending champion New Paltz in the finals Saturday at 1 p.m. New Paltz defeated Oneonta, 5-0, in Friday’s other semifinal. Geneseo held a 2-1 lead after doubles play. Cortland’s win came at third doubles, where Emma Madigan (Endicott/Union-Endicott) and Christina Massoni (West Babylon) posted an 8-2 victory over Abigail Rockwood and Talia Wutz.
