Field Events Lead SJU at Gustavus

By: Ryan Klinkner, SJU Athletic Media Relations Director Results ST. PETER, Minn. – Saint John’s track and field competed at Gustavus Adolphus’ Drake Alternative on Saturday, April 27. SJU sent a smaller contingent to St. Peter and recorded 17 top-eight performances. The Johnnies did not have a competitor in the steeplechase or long jump. Junior Joe Mensen (Hudson, Wis./Hill-Murray) led the Johnnies with a personal-best distance of 49.59 meters to claim second place in the hammer throw and sophomore Tom Kuriscak (Stillwater, Minn./St. Paul Academy) was eighth (44.36 meters). Mensen’s mark is good for fourth in the MIAC this spring.…
