Thoroughbreds beat Union 5-4 to clinch playoff spot on final day of regular season

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – The Skidmore College men’s tennis team secured its place in next weekend’s conference tournament with a 5-4 win over Union College on Sunday morning at the outdoor courts at the McCaffery-Wagman Tennis and Wellness Center. Skidmore (5-11, 4-4 Liberty League) has finished tied for fourth with St. Lawrence. The Thoroughbreds and Saints will meet in a first-round match in Ithaca on Friday, May 3. Union finishes at 4-12 overall and 2-6 in the league. With Skidmore ahead 4-3, sophomore Nika Mori clinched the victory at No. 2 singles with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Dimitris Binopoulos.…
