HILLSBORO, Ore. — A big weekend at the plate has earned Pacific Lutheran University slugger Paola Garcia the Northwest Conference Softball Hitter of the Week Award on Monday afternoon. The Downey, California native enjoyed a .667 batting average and a 1.167 slugging percentage over the weekend, helping the red-hot Lutes (19-17, 14-10 NWC) extend their win streak to nine games with a sweep of in-state rival Whitworth University.
