Highlanders Start Hot, Fall to UNLV in Midweek Play

RIVERSIDE, Calif. - UC Riverside (12-27, 3-15 Big West) took a sizeable lead early in Tuesday's midweek matchup with UNLV, but ultimately fell 13-7 at the Riverside Sports Complex. HOW IT HAPPENED UCR and UNLV traded runs in each half of the first inning, ending with Cole Koniarsky's game-tying solo shot to left center. The Highlanders busted out the bats once more in the bottom of the second, this time plating five runs on four hits. UCR plated its first two runs with one out before Zachary Chamizo roped a two-out, two run RBI double down the right field line....
