Zilavec Earns First CCAA Field Athlete of the Week Honor

SAN MARCOS, Calif. – Cal State San Marcos' Rachelle Zilavec is the season's final CCAA Field Athlete of the Week after setting a school record. Zilavec recorded the program record in the javelin throw with a distance of 41.30 meters (135 feet, 6 inches) at the Steve Scott Invitational at UC Irvine, where she placed second in the event as the top Division II entrant. She broke Kelly Skvarna's 2014 record of 40.15 meters. The senior from Toronto, Ontario, now owns the second-best mark in the CCAA.
