Baseball: Verbridge, Eck homer in Stonington diamond win

LEDYARD, Conn. — Wyatt Verbridge hit a three-run home run in the first and Finn Eck connected on a grand slam in the fifth to help lead Stonington to a 12-1 ECC inter-division victory over Ledyard in five innings. Eck (3 hits, 5 RBI) also doubled in the first and drove in a run after being hit by a pitch in the second for the Bears (7-5).
