Indy Lyness wins 1500-meter race at UST’s Joe Sweeney Invite
ST. PAUL, Minn. — Indy Lyness won the 1500-meter run at the Joe Sweeney Invitational hosted by the University of St. Thomas. The Carleton College men’s track & field team sent a small contingent to the 15-team meet and came home with a half-dozen top-12 results. Lyness was seeded eighth in the 1500 but held off a trio of St. Olaf runners to win the 42-runner event with a time of 3:51.90, which bettered his previous personal best by more than 7.0 seconds.
