Lawrence get win by forfeit: Andover pitcher needed another day’s rest

ANDOVER – Lawrence High baseball’s protest of its 2-0 loss to Andover High on Friday was upheld by the MIAA, thus awarding a forfeit/win to Lawrence. Andover High Director of Athletics, Wayne Puglisi, in a statement issued at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, noted that a rule was broken – Andover “mistakenly” used a pitcher who was supposed to get one more day’s rest – and thus will accept the loss, which goes in the books at 5-0.
