Kearney stunt sports in inaugural season
KEARNEY — Stunt sports is in its inaugural season under MSHSAA’s recognition. The high intensity sport is mix of cheer techniques without the crowd-leading element that involves four quarters with stunts, pyramids, tosses, jumps and tumbling. The Bulldogs are one of only five teams in the state competing this season. Head Coach Erin Schmeltz said in the team’s first season, they have 34 athletes, which makes them the largest team in the state. Schmeltz credits Kearney’s Athletic Director David Schwarzenbach with helping get stunt started.
