McLaren Shatters 36-Year-Old Decathlon SWAC Record
BATON ROUGE, La. | Alabama A&M University senior Brandon McLaren broke a 36-year-old Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Outdoor Track and Field Championship record in the decathlon on Friday in shattering the previous mark by more than 150 points at A.W. Mumford Stadium. McLaren, who finished inside the top three in nearly every event in the decathlon, held off Arkansas-Pine Bluff's Che Rochford to win the event with 6,937 points.
