On Schools: Niskayuna softball basks in the glory of 11-run comeback

For proof, there’s no need to look any further past the Niskayuna High School softball team’s Suburban Council matchup against Columbia on Wednesday afternoon. After Columbia scored two runs in the first, and then put up a nine-spot in the third inning, the Blue Devils were on the cusp of picking up a mercy-rule win over Niskayuna, leading 11-0. Niskayuna, however, had something else in mind. The Silver Warriors responded with five runs in the bottom of the fifth inning, cutting Columbia’s lead, to remain in the game.
