Garrett homers twice against Engineers

TROY, N.Y.— Sophomore third baseman Nate Garrett homered in both games of a doubleheader for Hobart, but Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute swept the Statesmen in the Liberty League Crossover Series this afternoon. The Engineers controlled the opener, prevailing 6-1, and rallied to claim Game 2, 5-4. Garrett hit a solo shot in the eighth inning of the first game and launched a three-run home run in the fourth inning of the second game to give Hobart a 3-1 lead.
