Rummel bounces back to sweep Alexandria, earn state tourney berth

Facing elimination from the Division I select baseball playoffs on Saturday against Alexandria, Rummel swept a doubleheader Saturday at Mike Miley Stadium to advance to the state semifinals. In the decisive Game 3 Saturday, Aiden Gernard drove in the Raiders' first three runs and relief pitcher Peyton Spadoni held Alexandria to three hits in 3⅓ innings as Rummel won 8-2.
