Smith Clinches No. 5 Seed in NEWMAC Softball Championship

WESTWOOD – The Smith College softball team has clinched the No. 5 seed in the 2024 New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Softball Championship. The Pioneers will face the No. 4 seed Babson Beavers on Tuesday, May 7 at 2:30pm at Springfield College. Smith (22-15-1, 12-8), which makes its first postseason appearance since 2014, looks to Juno Shantz (Seattle, Wash./Garfield) to lead the offensive charge. Shantz leads the league with a .483 batting average, and a league-leading 11 home runs. Babson (24-16, 13-7) on pitcher Moira O’Reilly all season, as she leads the NEWMAC with 16 wins. Tickets…
