Stags capture fourth straight playoff district title
Berkeley High School’s baseball team locked in the District 8 title with an 8-1 victory over visiting Fort Dorchester in the Class 5A playoffs Monday, May 6, at Jim Bradley Field. The Stags improved to 21-8 overall with their fifth straight win and completed the District 8 tournament with a 3-0 mark, outscoring Fort Dorchester twice and St. James once by a combined score of 29-2. The postseason district title is the fourth in a row for Berkeley. Berkeley begins the Lower State final four tournament Thursday, May 9 (after press time) at the District 7 winner (Summerville or Stratford)....
