BASEBALL, SOFTBALL ROUNDUP: Sequim, Forks stay alive in postseason
DES MOINES — The Sequim baseball team remained alive in the postseason, getting a huge game from Zeke Schmadeke in beating Tyee 8-1 in the Wolves’ bidistrict tournament opener. Forks also remained alive in the postseason with an 8-0 win over Kalama. The Wolves (11-11) played at Fife (14-8), which was beaten by Port Angeles 5-3 on Wednesday after press deadline in another loser-out game. If Sequim wins that game, they will have another bidistrict tournament game against Kingston or Olympic at 3 p.m. Saturday at Foss High School, with a chance to qualify for the state 2A tournament.
