2. Wade Boggs, 3B (Omaha)
Boggs was baseball’s best hitter of the 1980s. His league-leading five AL batting crowns for the decade back up that claim. Boggs batted .349 and .342 in years he DIDN’T take the prize. His resume includes 12 All-Star games and two Gold Gloves. In 2005, he was enshrined in the Hall of Fame.
