HOUSTON – Entering Friday night’s men’s 3,000 steeplechase with the sixth-fastest seed time, Texas A&M University-Commerce junior Nicholas Deutsch defied all odds to bring home a silver medal and rally the Lions to a tie for fifth entering the final day of the Southland Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Holloway Field.
