Monday’s District 3 baseball playoffs: Trinity ousts Oley Valley

Ty Book struck out seven and allowed just two runs as Trinity eliminated Oley Valley from the Class 3A District 3 playoffs Monday in the quarterfinals. Trinity is the second seed in the tournament and is now 14-7. Seventh-seeded Oley Valley finishes the season 11-8. Book pitched 6.2 innings and gave up the two runs in the fourth inning when Oley Valley’s Luke Peterson knocked in a run. For Trinity, Ryan Balaban went 3-for-3 with a home run, double and 3 RBI. For Oley Valley, Sean Hoffman doubled.
