Ranking the top 10 MLB players from the state of Nevada
6. Ryan Ludwick, OF
Ludwick made six stops in his dozen-year MLB tour, with his 2008 season standing out in particular.
He slashed .299/.375/.591 and had 37 home runs and 113 RBIs for St. Louis that go-round, earning an All-Star nod and a Silver Slugger Award. Ludwick was eventually traded to San Diego in 2010 and to Pittsburgh the year after. He finished his career with Cincinnati and played for Texas and Cleveland.
Ludwick’s numbers wouldn’t again resemble those of his impressive campaign with the Redbirds. He attended Las Vegas’ Durango High School and the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
