Patrik Laine on the trade block?: 5 possible landing spots

The trade: The Flyers acquire Laine. The Blue Jackets acquire Rasmus Ristolainen.

The Flyers would have a good gauge on Laine thanks to his former head coach John Tortorella. If he believes that he is a player who can help, Philadelphia’s front office may be more willing to acquire the winger. Some Flyers players like Travis Konecny, Morgan Frost and Joel Farabee have been mentioned in trade rumors, but even if they sell off pieces, that should not stop them from acquiring Laine if they believe in his upside.

Rasmus Ristolainen could also be viewed in a similar light as Laine. He is a reclamation project with two more years left on his contract. His best days were with the Buffalo Sabres, but his defensive game looked better this season before dealing with injuries. He could be a top-four defenseman with the Blue Jackets if stays healthy.
